GAMIjector® and TurboGAMIjector® Fuel Injectors

Product Description

The GAMIjector® and TurboGAMIjector® fuel injectors are meticulously engineered to deliver precisely measured fuel to each cylinder. By compensating for the inherent fuel/air imbalance in the engine’s fundamental design, these injectors ensure superior performance of your aircraft’s engine. Each fuel injector is finely calibrated to standards significantly higher than typical fuel injectors, leading to a much more uniform fuel/air ratio across all cylinders. This difference becomes clear from your very first flight with these injectors.

Benefits

GAMIjector® and TurboGAMIjector® fuel injectors are designed to enhance the operational efficiency of your Continental Motors or Lycoming engine. Pilots and mechanics have long known the suboptimal fuel/air distribution in aircraft piston engines. With these state-of-the-art injectors, we address that challenge head-on, aiming for optimal and uniform performance across all cylinders.

Avoid makeshift engine alterations that could risk your license and insurance. Trust the GAMIjector® and TurboGAMIjector® fuel injectors – products of rigorous research, testing, and regulatory approval.

Features

    1. Precision Calibration: Each fuel injector is meticulously calibrated for precision, ensuring a more uniform fuel/air ratio across all cylinders.

    2. Enhanced Performance: By altering the fuel/air ratio in each cylinder, the injectors ensure a smoother and more efficient engine operation.

    3. Legal and Certified: The GAMIjector® and TurboGAMIjector® fuel injectors are fully legal, FAA and EASA STC’d, and PMA’d. They are available for almost all engine models in the current Continental and Lycoming fleet of fuel injected engines.

    4. Data-Driven Design: GAMI’s state-of-the-art 96 channel data acquisition system informs the design of these fuel injectors. This results in specifications optimised for each engine model, not just “hangar talk”.

Compatibility

The fuel injectors from General Aviation Modifications, Inc are compatible with an extensive range of Continental Motors and Lycoming engines. Below is a detailed list of compatible engine models. Information Needed to Order

Once you have conducted the in-flight test procedure and verified that your engine requires the GAMIjector® and TurboGAMIjector® fuel injectors, please provide the following information:

Information for Continental Motors Engines

1. Injector Size Code

The first piece of information we need is the size designation stamped on your engine’s injector. This stamping consists of alphanumeric characters, for example, “D13AA” for normally aspirated injectors or “14C” for turbocharged ones. The characters represent the flow rate of the injector, which is crucial for us to match the correct GAMIjector® fuel injector kit with your engine.

2. Fuel Distribution Manifold Code (if available)

Your engine’s fuel distribution manifold, sometimes referred to as the “Spider Valve” or fuel divider, may also have a data placard with an “M” or “P” code. This code provides us with additional information to determine the correct GAMIjector® fuel injector kit. The “M” represents “minus” for lower flow rate nozzles, whereas the “P” stands for “plus” indicating higher flow rate nozzles.

NOTE: If your Continental engine was purchased new or remanufactured after 2003, it may already be equipped with “Position Tuned Nozzles.” In such cases, you might not find the “M” or “P” code on the manifold. For these engines, kindly note the 4-digit number on the injector (not the “047” or “062” number).

Information for Lycoming Engines

For Lycoming engines, the size stamps are not available on the injectors. We will need the exact model of your engine to determine the correct GAMIjector® fuel injector kit. For instance, IO-320-A1A.

If you have a turbocharged Lycoming engine, we also need to know if your collars are straight or angled, as we replace the air collar to match our injectors. Additionally, we provide the necessary washers and o-rings.

Installation Process

Installing GAMIjector® fuel injectors is straightforward and hassle-free. Your mechanic should be able to complete the installation in approximately one hour, though it may take a bit longer for turbocharged engines. Here’s a brief overview of the installation process. Please note that the installation should always be performed by a qualified mechanic to ensure safety and compliance with all regulations.

    1. Removal of Old Injectors: Start by removing the old injectors from your engine.
    2. Installation of GAMIjector® Fuel Injectors: Replace the old injectors with the new GAMIjector® fuel injectors. It’s a simple swap.
    3. Paperwork Completion: Your mechanic will need to fill out the necessary paperwork. It is crucial for documentation and warranty purposes.
    4. No Modifications Needed: The good news is that no modification of the engine fuel pressure or other engine settings should be required. The GAMIjector® fuel injectors are designed to work efficiently with your engine’s current settings.
